ban sex-selective abortion
Australia’s Baby Girls Are Being Erased
For decades, Australia has spoken proudly about women’s rights, equality, and dignity.
But new research shows a disturbing contradiction at the very beginning of life.
A peer-reviewed study published in the Global Public Health Journal has revealed that sex-selective abortion is occurring in Australia. In parts of Victoria and New South Wales, the natural balance between boys and girls has been distorted — with far fewer girls being born than biology allows.
This is not chance.
It is not nature.
It points to unborn girls being aborted simply because they are female.
These girls are not lost to miscarriage or medical emergency. They are deliberately denied the right to live because their sex is considered undesirable. That is discrimination in its most final form.
Australia invests heavily in women’s equality and empowerment, yet permits discrimination against girls at the very point where protection should be strongest. Equality cannot begin after birth if it is denied before it.
Other nations have recognised this injustice and acted. Australia has not. There is still no national law protecting unborn baby girls from sex-selective abortion.
Silence allows this to continue. We refuse to stay silent.
Sex-selective abortion is wrong. It undermines equality, human dignity, and the value of every life. It must end.
Stand with us. Add your name to the petition today and call for an immediate ban on sex-selective abortion in Australia.
